Sutcliffe Park training camp
The Sutcliffe Park athletics track is home to Cambridge Harriers Athletics Club - one of the oldest athletics clubs in England. They have had at least one athlete in every Olympic games since 1964, including Steve Backley MBE OBE, the three-time Olympic javelin medalist.
The track has been built to a high standard and hosts regular athletics meetings and training events. It features:
· 6 lane synthetic 400 metre track, with 8 lane sprint track
· 3 throwing areas
· 3 jumping areas
· Floodlighting
· newly-built facilities including changing rooms, a meeting room, multi-purpose room and kitchen.
By 2011 it will have a new state-of-the-art grandstand that will incorporate indoor training facilities including an indoor 80-metre sprint track and athlete performance suite with strength and conditioning facilities.
