Train in Greenwich ahead of 2012 Games
Greenwich will host one third of all Olympic and Paralympic Games events in 2012, including the equestrian, shooting, badminton, basketball, gymnastics and volleyball events.
Greenwich can offer training camps, complete with state-of-the-art facilities, to Olympic teams preparing for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The four camps and accommodation village will provide athletes with the perfect environment to acclimatise to the British climate and atmosphere ahead of the Games.
In addition to training camps for Olympic athletes, Greenwich offers complementary leisure facilities, such as indoor and outdoor swimming provision, hydrotherapy pools and health and fitness centres.
Greenwich runs along eight miles of the River Thames waterfront – which is one of the longest riverfronts in London. A quarter of Greenwich is made up of green and open spaces, offering an ideal outdoor training setting for athletes.
The unique location of Greenwich offers excellent transport links enabling easy access to international destinations and connecting Greenwich to central London in minutes.
