Other attractions in the Borough
 
Spread across the wider borough are a number of other attractions. They include Eltham Palace, Tudor Barn, Charlton House and the Royal Arsenal Woolwich where Firepower, The Royal Artillery Museum and the Greenwich Heritage Centre are based. The riverside attractions include The O2 entertainment complex and the imposing Thames Barrier. 
 
Charlton House
Charlton HouseThe ornate Jacobean house of a royal courtier was built between 1607 and 1612. Today its splendidly decorated rooms are available for weddings, conferences and private parties, and are home to a wide range of public events and community groups.






 
Eltham Palace (English Heritage)
Eltham PalaceThe medieval Great Hall of the palace where Henry VIII was educated is today attached to the Courtauld House. Built in the 1930s, it is one of the finest Art Deco houses in the country. It is surrounded by a delightful landscaped garden.
 







The O2
The O2A 20,000-seat arena plus cinema, live music club and exhibition ‘bubble’ hosting an unrivalled mix of exciting events. The complex offers a whole district of restaurants, bars, clubs and brand new interactive experiences, all under cover and protected from the elements. The venue has a permanent exhibition - The British Music Experience - that traces the history of music in Britain.






 
The Royal Arsenal Firepower & Greenwich Heritage Centre
The Royal Arsenal Firepower & Greenwich Heritage Centre For more than 300 years the Royal Arsenal was a walled, secret enclave where weapons of war were manufactured. It now houses Firepower, the Royal Artillery Museum and Greenwich Heritage Centre, the local museum and history library.
 






Thames Barrier
Thames BarrierThe great gates of the flood barrier spanning the Thames close during surge tides from the North Sea, preventing flooding in Central London. It is one of the most important engineering feats of the last century. The visitor centre has an exhibition about its making and how it works.






The Tudor Barn
Thames BarrierBuilt in the 16th Century, the Tudor Barn is all that remains of the country mansion built for the renowned William Roper and Margaret More, daughter of Sir Thomas More, Lord Chancellor to Henry VIII. Encircled by a medieval moat and set in 13 acres of award winning gardens, this spectacular landmark is available to hire for weddings, conferences, parties, dinners and team building days, it also hosts a variety of public events.
