Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP)
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP - formerly known as TCS) is a UK Government part-funded scheme designed to foster partnerships between university academics and industry. Companies of all sizes can access academic knowledge and expertise in a broad range of disciplines for strategic advances in any aspect of their operation. Although a wide range of projects can be supported, the majority involve the development of a new product, service or management system within the company.
Graduates spend about 90 per cent of their time at a company on a clearly defined programme of work which is designed to result in an improvement in processes, products, systems or methods which will yield growth, increased efficiency and improved profits.
To qualify for funding, a project must demonstrate a substantial transfer of technology, knowledge and/or information between the academic and industrial partners.
University of Greenwich KTP Centre, part of the Greenwich Research and Enterprise Office, is responsible for:
· Generating company and academic interest in the scheme
· developing project ideas
· assisting nominated academics and their partner companies with the completion and submission of applications.
