You could benefit from being part of Greenwich’s burgeoning cultural and creative industries sector which is flourishing in the borough’s business environment.

Typical businesses range from performance through to digital media. The borough’s reputation as a creative and cultural hub has been further enhanced by the relocation of the renowned Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication to Greenwich Peninsula.

Case Study - Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication

Ravensbourne’s new iconic building, designed by Foreign Office architects, is expected to be completed in 2010, attracting local employment during its construction, and will provide local creative businesses with a readily available pool of talented employees.

Enterprise and innovation will be at the heart of the Ravensbourne, and the building will incorporate a central hub offering students, staff, graduates, alumni and businesses access to the college’s leading edge facilities and creativity. Maximising the use of virtual environments and digital technologies will ensure that Ravensbourne’s enterprise and innovation activities can be sourced by interested parties anywhere in the world.

TfL, created in 2000 as the integrated body responsible for London’s diverse and intricate transport system, is set to relocate some of their offices to the new Greenwich Peninsula business district - Peninsula Central - in 2009.

TfL is taking a 20-year lease on 135,000 square feet of space in a brand new cutting-edge commercial and retail building developed by Lend Lease and Quintain, with the option to occupy a further 60,000 square feet of space. Several TfL offices will join together in this exciting new commercial space on the Greenwich Peninsula to form one of three office hubs in London, bringing with them over 1,000 employees.

Charles Stafford, TfL Director of Group Property and Facilities, said: “TfL is delighted to be one of the first tenants in this significant regenerative development. This move is a key part of our business strategy to improve the overall quality and productivity of the workspace we provide for our staff, yet also achieve significant efficiencies, in this case obtaining top quality office accommodation at an excellent location, giving us true value for money”.
