Building Schools for the Future

Greenwich Council is committed to helping young people achieve their goals in Greenwich and over £400 million is being invested to rebuild or refurbish every secondary school in the borough, as part of the Building Schools for the Future (BSF) scheme.

BSF is a government programme worth £2.2bn a year, which aims to rebuild or refurbish every secondary school in the country by 2015.

As a pathfinder borough, Greenwich is one of the first authorities to benefit from this ambitious programme. It will transform every secondary school in Greenwich through a mix of public and private sector funding.
For Greenwich this will mean brand new school buildings to inspire learning and state-of-the-art facilities for use by both schools and the wider community. It will offer exciting building designs, new technology and more space for school and community use together with top quality sports facilities.
