Accommodation at Avery Hill
The accommodation for the training venues is located at the University of Greenwich’s Avery Hill Campus.
The quiet and secure accommodation village, set in parkland, is approximately 20 minutes walk from the busy high street shopping centre in Eltham.
The Charlton Sparrows Lane Training Ground and Crown Woods Sports Campus are within a short walk, whilst Sutcliffe Park and Thomas Tallis are 10 minutes by road. Charlton’s Valley stadium is 20 minutes by road. Public transport by bus is available between Avery Hill and Greenwich (journey time is approximately 40 minutes).
The modern university accommodation features 800 rooms in shared flats and maisonettes. Up to 400 are en suite, and 400 others have shared bathrooms. Direct access to internet and e-mail access is available in the rooms via the university’s network. Each room has its own fridge and access to a shared kitchen.
The village complex includes The Dome cafe which serves food throughout the day and Sparrows Farm offering bar and sports facilities. There is also a general shop, bookshop, coin-operated launderette, parking and some excellent sports facilities.
The campus is protected by CCTV and the university has 24-hour security staffing based at the main gatehouse.
